Big Sur

A collection of photographs taken in Big Sur, California 2012
Hasselblad - 120mm film

Driving down Highway One with the rugged coastline on one side and giant redwood forests on the other was like being in a dream. Being a devoted Jack Kerouac fan I loved every minute of exploring this coast he described so vividly in his novel. We stayed in an artists house perched on top of a hill surrounded by redwoods below. With an open fire, delicious wine, food and art books to devour...I was in heaven. Everyday I headed out to take photos and dream of which log cabin I would like to live in. There were some incredible cabins, you can see in the second photo the stairs leading straight up.

Such a beautiful place, I felt like I was returning home.

“And when the fog's over and the stars and the moon come out at night it'll be a beautiful sight.”
